Gaitania is a village located within the Planadas municipality in

the department of Tolima. It is situated in rich volcanic soil and

is surrounded by mountains that provide the perfect fresh

weather for growing high-quality coffees.

Planadas has a captivating history that enriches the character of

its people and the region. It once served as a shelter for political

prisoners from the Liberal Party.

Over time both parties, Liberales and Conservadores,

established a good relationship, leading to the famous kindness

of people from Planadas being well-known throughout the

country.
